We always knew this was possible, and I can tell you personally I have never been more proud. SportsMonger Marketing and Media and DYSTNow.com has once again had the privilege of having one of it’s best writers get their big break. Andrew Grimm has been our Wheeling Nailers Beat Writer for many years now, but that will come to an end this year as he was hired full-time for the The Herald Star and Weirton Daily Times.
I would like to share the note that was sent to me… which Shows just what kind of person Andrew Really is.
“I hope all is well with you and your family and you had a very nice Independence Day. It’s very bittersweet for me to inform you but I’ve been offered and accepted a position as a full time sports writer with the Herald Star/Weirton Daily Times. Due to my new schedule, I will not be able to cover the Nailers for you this upcoming season. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help, guidance, and the opportunity to do what I love. You and Brian and everyone from Sports Monger played a big role in me getting here.”
Andrew has been a pleasure to work with and has written some of our best articles over the past several years. He was there from start to finish while Wheeling went on it’s big run a couple of years ago. He has done some terrific interviews along the way and his ability to ask good, fair, and tough questions has become one of his best traits.
With Andrew, this makes 6 of our writers over the years that have gotten their big break while working with us. We are proud of all of our writers and former writers. But today, we are especially proud of Andrew and wish him nothing but the best as he continues his career.
We pride ourselves on providing aspiring sports writers an opportunity to put themselves out there, doing the work, and taking the next big step. For Andrew, this is his next big step.
