Haley out as Steelers Offensive Coordinator

Todd Haley had not had his contract renewed and according to Ian Rapoport, his contract will not be renewed.    Here is the link and the video included.  He is reported that Steelers Quarterback Coach Randy Fichtner is likely considered the front runner.

We all know that there has been issues between Ben and Todd, but the offense is the one place they have not struggled in recent games.  The fact is, when this team loses the defense is exploited.  If Haley is removed, the current defensive Coordinator Keith Butler has should also be on the block.

Mike Tomlin in yesterday’s presser endorsed no assitant.  Ben came out shortly after and said he would like the Coaching staff to stay in place with as little change as possible.  To say that it was a calculated message, would be an understatement.  Also,  When Ben came out and stated he was coming back and would likely want to play for a couple more years, it was clear the Steelers had made a decision to move away from Haley.
