Mountain East Conference Basketball Weekly Update

After the loss to Fairmont State, West Liberty fell from number 1 in the country to the 5 spot.  Wheeling Jesuit lost to Shepherd this past week and that loss dropped them from 19th to 26th, with the most votes of any team not in the top 25.  Fairmont State, with the win over West Liberty also received top 25 votes.

As for the conference itself, The Hilltoppers still have a stranglehold on the lead.   Here is how the rest of the rankings shake out.

Taiwo Badmus was the MEC player of the week this week as he averaged nearly 30 points a game and 9 rebounds in two wins last week.   Haywood Highsmith had a big week averaging nearly 28 points a game and 12.5 rebounds per game helping his team go 1-1 last week. Dan Monteroso had another good week, keeping with his averages helping his team to a big win and a near monster comeback in Fairmont.    Here is an overall look at the leading scorers in the league.
