Minnesota Vikings

NFL Conference Championship Preview and Predictions

So, the first week I started these, I went 3-1.  Last week, I went 1-3.  So coming into the final playoff week, I am .500 with a 4-4 record.   Lucky for me there are only two games I can lose this week.  So let’s jump right into this Hot Mess!

UPSET SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jacksonville at -9 New England: This is the first game of the weekend and I think could be very entertaining.   Jacksonville has a gigantic chip on their shoulder and are looking forward to playing the Patriots.    They also have a great defense… that I realize was exploited this last weekend.  They were exploited by an offense with nearly unlimited resources… which is not the Patriots. Not This year! Although  Gronk is great, as a receiver, he is no Antonio Brown.  Tom Brady has not been bullet proof when he has pressure and is getting beat up.  Jacksonville knows how to get to the quarterback.  Here is the other thing, there is one guy that knows how to beat Coach Belichick… and his name is Tom Coughlin.

Jacksonville wins outright….  26-20

Minnesota-3 @ Philadelphia:  The Vikings come into this game as a 3 point favorite on the road against the Eagles… a team that showed off one of the best defenses I have seen in some time against Drew Brees and company.

Minnesota jumped out to big lead in their game this last weekend, lost the lead, gained it back, lost it again and won the game on a miracle play at the end. So what does that mean for this game?

I believe we will get an entertaining SuperBowl out of the winners of this weekend’s games.  I just am not convinced it will be the sexiest choice.  With that said, Philadelphia will win this game and the Dream of hosting a Championship will come to a close for Minnesota.

Final score, 18-11 Eagles.

Our Superbowl will be Jacksonville @ Philadelphia in a Championship game that pit two of the most mediocre quarterbacks in the history of the game.  Like I said…. no sexy.  Unless of course, you love physical shut down defense, in that case…. This is right up your alley.
