RMU Colonials Football: 2018 National Signing Day Results

Moon Township, Pa. – The restoration of the Robert Morris University football program continued Wednesday as new head coach Bernard Clark welcomed eight players to his first recruiting class during National Signing Day. This octet joins a trio of January transfers to bring the total to 11 players added to the Colonials’ roster.

Seven of the eight athletes signed Monday to come to Joe Walton Stadium are freshmen while Arrington Johns is a junior this fall. He competed for the Lackawanna College Falcons the past two seasons.

Clark spoke with Ken Baker on the RMU website, “We feel good about this class as whole. We got some positions we thought we really needed to fill based on conversations with guys that we kept here. We were able to fill in some of our needs. Still have a few things leftover that to look at, but we’re not rushing in to sign guys. We want to make sure to sign the right guys and not just signing players.”

Here is the rundown of the eight players signed by Robert Morris:

Aniello Buzzacco is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback, who tallied 44  total touchdowns his senior season with the South Range Raiders. He is going to be a defensive back with RMU.

Arrington Johns is a 5-foot-4, 200-pound free safety, who played basketball and football for Gateway.

Darrell Mason is a 6-foot, 195-pound linebacker from Penn Hills. He contributed 111 tackles to the Indians defense in 2017.

EJ Jimenez is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound cornerback from Winter Park, Florida. He delivered 47 tackles to the box score last season and averaged 31.4-yards on kickoff returns.

Michael Allain is a 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive lineman, who led the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers last season with eight sacks in 11 games.

Brady Ours is 6-foot-2, 185-pounds and played quarterback and defensive back at Keyser, West Virginia. He rushed for 14 touchdowns and pulled down four interceptions. He is going to be a linebacker for the Colonials.

Brayden Jones is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker from McKees Rocks, Penna. He recorded 55 tackles and three sacks in 2017.

Chucky Morris is a 6-foot-3, 270-pound offensive lineman from Jackson, Ohio. He collected Southeastern Ohio Athletic League first team honors as a junior and senior.

The three transfers from January are graduate student quarterback Caleb Lewis from Louisiana State University, junior running back Terence Stephens from Bowling Green University, and redshirt sophomore tight-end Steve Petrick from Temple University. All three can contribute to the team this fall.

Lewis is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound signal caller, who in his senior year at Victory Christian Academy in Lakeland, Florida put up 2,613 passing yards and 32 touchdowns.

Stephens carried the ball 26 times for 121-yards in 20 contests for Bowling Green. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound running back ran for 1,420 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior at West Allegheny High School.

Petrick, who redshirted his freshman season, appeared in three matchups in 2017 for the Owls, against East Carolina, Tulsa, and Notre Dame. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight-end claimed all-conference honors as a senior at Norwin.
