Week 5 DraftKings Cash Lineup Review

Every Monday or Tuesday of the NFL season, I will be documenting my cash game lineup for NFL on Draftkings.  I will discuss how I constructed my lineup.  I will post whether I win or lose and will also document profit or loss.

Guys I Had To Have:

Antonio Brown- I seem to roster Antonio Brown every week and i’ll admit it does get boring doing it weekly but it’s justified.  Brown was out-shined by Sammie Coates in the game but he was still able to have nine catches for 78 yards and a TD.  Unfortunately, we didn’t get Revis on Brown because he did not play but Brown still had no problem against the weak Jets pass defense.  When Antonio Brown has a matchup like this, I will force him into my lineups nearly every time.

Zach Ertz- Once we got the report that Zach Ertz was fully healthy I immediately put him in my lineup.  It did not work out with his three catch day but I still firmly believe it was the correct play.  We have discussed in different articles throughout the year that the TE position has been very tough this year on DK.  We have to continue to go through the process weekly and continue to make the correct roster decisions based on the numbers and research.  It is known that the Lions can’t defend the TE.  This time it just happened to not work out in our favor but I will continue to pick on the Lions pass defense against TE’s weekly.

Jordan Howard- I loved what John Fox said early last week about Jordan Howard.  He basically said that is doing great and we are going to ride him.  It is tough to believe everything an NFL head coach says but in the interview Fox seemed genuine.  The $5200 price tag was too cheap for a back who was most likely going to be a three down back and get goal line carries.  Howard played on every snap but two in week 5, that is massive usage and it seems to be a stretch that Jeremy Langford will get his job back when he returns from injury.

Any changes from Schlagger’s Slant will be discussed below:

Le’Veon Bell- All week I wasn’t going to use Bell in cash games but then I began to do some thinking about the Jets defense and Todd Haley.  Everyone knows that the Jets defense is much better against the run and terrible against the pass so I did not think Haley would run Bell much.  I did think that Bell would be heavily involved in the pass game and on DK that is very valuable.  I knew that Bell was almost guaranteed 100-110 yards and 5 catches which would be a 15-16 point floor.  I did not expect Bell to have nine catches and he ended with 154 total yards for a total of 24.4 points.

Aaron Rodgers- I loved Ben all week but once I had Brown and Bell in my lineup I knew I could not play Ben because if for some reason the Steelers failed then my lineup would be done.  Tom Brady was another guy on my radar but I was slightly worried about a blow out and the Pats not throwing much in the 4th quarter.  Eventually, I landed on Aaron Rodgers because of the high Packers team total and I felt I needed a Packer in my lineup.  Rodgers was just fine on Sunday night but good enough for me to cash.
